“Ain’t Over” – idesia

July 9, 2017 By jaygidwitz Leave a Comment

“Ain’t Over” is an experimental music video of consciousness through indigo hues; a young woman discovers strength in an internal world while daydreaming on a train. Animated dreamscapes overlaid on dyed canvas merge geometric and organic forms. Combined with layered analog synths, bass, and ethereal vocals, “Ain’t Over” evokes themes of persistence, yearning, and memory.

Emerald Green – by Carolin Koss

October 28, 2016 By jaygidwitz Leave a Comment

Concept & directed by Carolin Koss

EMERALD GREEN is a 3-channel video installation about a dystopian world, where nature has been rendered extinct, breathable air has gotten scarce and the sun has vanished due to exploitation of natural resources and human error. The focus is on 3 people who try to survive and escape into their sub-consciousness in order to re-imagine and re-build the contaminated world they live in.

The video installation is an imaginary reaction to real issues such as air becoming more and more polluted, water resources running dry, oceans accumulating tons of plastic waste, the human body degrading through processed food and an obscured force steering the fate of the world.

The three videos were realised over a period of 4 years in devoted collaboration with film students from Taik, filmmakers, artists and the support of AVEK, Suomen Kulttuurirahasto, Arts Promotion Center, Nygréns Stiftelse, Anita Snellman Foundation, Taik and Kuvataideakatemia.

The Flow

April 13, 2013 By jaygidwitz Leave a Comment

The Flow looks at the supervening layers of reality that we can observe, from quarks to nucleons to atoms and beyond. The deeper we go into the foundations of reality the more it loses its form, eventually becoming a pure mathematical conception. Layer upon layer the flow builds new codes that create new codes, each version computing a new, more complex state based on the previous one.
